Beginning Quilt Making



Are you ready for a new adventure? Want to get involved in a satisfying hobby? Then quilting may be for you. Are you looking to brush up on your skills? This is a great refresher course

Students will learn the basics of quilt making: rotary cutting and safety, sewing an accurate ¼” seam, and reading pattern instructions.

You'll learn to make the following blocks:
  • Rail Fence
  • Log Cabin
  • Jacob’s Ladder
  • Friendship Star with 4-patch corners
  • Ohio Star
  • Sawtooth Star with a Log Cabin Center
Students will learn how to square up their blocks, add sashing with cornerstones and add borders; prepare their quilt backing and assemble the quilt by sandwiching the back, batting and completed top.
