What I brought back from H+H Americas...a broken big toe! Apparently, I did way too much walking over the 6 days I was in Chicago. What I thought was a sprain from overuse, actually turned out to be a stress fracture. (Yes, I continued to walk on it for 2 weeks before I broke down and went to the doctor.) Fortunately, it didn't break until I was heading out of the conference center on the last day. Unfortunately, I still had to walk back to my hotel, get to the airport, get to my gate, and, of course, change gates...because the universe thought I needed a little more walking. Podiatry appointment is Wednesday and I'm hoping I can get a more streamlined boot as I'm currently in my Frankenstein phase with my oversized footwear. (I'm sure a bone density test is in my future.) I did place some orders, though. We've already received our order from Twice Sheared Sheep of cute tins, yarn carousels, and stitch gauges; and from the folks at Tutto, we received their new EZ-Glide trolleys in three sizes. Still to arrive are new Della Q bags, laminated cotton fabric, and Ultimate Sewing Chairs. I found a source for really nice knit fabric from Stof so I need to place an order with them. It was a productive trip. I took a lot of classes, resisted overbuying, and caught glimpses of Lorelai Kuecker, author of Lorelai's First-Time Quilter's Handbook (she's adorable), and YaYa Han, costume designer, cosplayer, and author (she looks exactly like she does in all the pics)...and yes, we'll be ordering her new Oliso irons.
