Log Cabin: The 100,000 Pieces Project
Log Cabin: The 100,000 Pieces Project [Amy Pabst - Quiltmania]
Quiltmania is so excited to launch our very first book exclusively dedicated to the well-known, and infinitely versatile, Log Cabin Block! Amy Pabst launches her very first book with 19 visually stunning quilts selected from her audacious project of 100,000 fabric pieces! In this book, Amy Pabst walks us through her techniques (how does she sew such thin strips?), shares her favorite materials and explains her creative process and sources of inspiration for each quilt. Each quilt is carefully explained and illustrated, leaving no stone unturned. Included in this thorough book is a chapter by Jane Hall, renowned quilt teacher and author, on the history of the Log Cabin. Amy’s book is perfect for quilters of all levels and a feast for the eyes. Take your Log Cabins to another level! Amy Pabst began sewing as a child, doing alterations at the dry cleaner where her mother and grandmother worked. Not particularly a fan at that young age, Amy put sewing aside for many years until one day she randomly picked up a book on quilting at her local library. Within a few months she has made over a dozen quilts! She has not stopped since. The quilts in this book are part of an artistic series she began with a final goal in mind – to produce a series composed of 100,000 pieces. Her next project will focus on micro-piecing and Pineapple Blocks. Amy is truly a prolific and talented quilter!
